Martti Aleksanteri Kutvonen, at the age of 11 days

“En frisk och rask gosse” (a healthy and lively boy) according to an announcement in the newspaper “HUFVUDSTADSBLADET”. This photograph is also interesting because it is the first image in our albums that was not taken in a studio or in a formal outdoor setting, i.e. a snapshot. We notice Martti's mother smiling, which was not the custom in 19th century photographs.
