Anna Bethulia was a strong-willed woman of the Karjalainen family from the Juuka parish on the shores of Lake Pielisjärvi. At least five generations of her ancestors can be traced back in the history. Although her husband Herman Kurki was a photographer, there are surprisingly few photographs of Anna Bethulia.
