We can trace eight generations of Heikki's paternal ancestors, starting with Tuomas Niilonpoika Alanen and his wife Susanna Markuksentytär at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries. The chain of farmers leads us from Kuorevesi, to Längelmäki, and to Orivesi, all located in the present-day Pirkanmaa. Heikki's great-grandson lives with his family still on the site of his ancestors.
